- Cosmo Vitelli's I'm A Cliché imprint will release their first ever label compilation later this month.
Cosmo Vitelli is set to celebrate five years of his I'm a Cliché imprint with his first label compilation.
The Parisian producer (real name Benjamin Boguet) has steadily built up his own electro-disco vision throughout the label's history, enticing producers such as Simian Mobile Disco, Runaway and Bot'Ox into the I’m a Cliché fold. This release, entitled Moments of Crisis, will look back at the highlights of the last few years as well as showcasing what we can expect from the next phase of the label. The first CD of the double disc set will contain ten tracks from the label's back catalogue, with discofied chuggers like Dirty 30's "Disco Apocalypto" and Vitelli's own "Delayer" sitting alongside jacking electro-house cuts from Yuksek and Simian Mobile Disco.
Ardent Cliché followers will be glad to know that the entire second disc is comprised of previously unreleased tracks, with plenty of new faces contributing material. Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris will come together for a low-slung tension builder under their It's A Fine Line moniker, but while there are other dance floor-focused tracks, half of the CD is comprised of downbeat material with twee electronic pop (Bogus), Balearic country music (Electonicat) and shimmering ambience (Entertainment) all getting a look in.
