  • Chicken Lips are getting back together to start a new record label. Once just comprised of ex-Bizarre Inc members Andy Meecham (AKA The Emperor Machine) and Dean Meredith, over the course of three albums, Chicken Lips have slowly augmented themselves into a four piece that now includes Bearfunk man Stevie Kotey and vocalist Jonny Spencer. After spending the last few years focusing on remixes and solo projects, the Lips have come together once again to launch their Lipservice record label (named after one of their tracks on their Echoman album), which will feature three tracks produced under their Zeefungk moniker. Released later this month, the acidic bassline and loose disco drums of "Robot Eyes" is a slice of electro-disco that carries on in the usual Chicken Lips tradition, whilst B-side "Robot Lips" is more of a vintage synth odyssey. Also included is a Stevie Kotey edit of "Feast Of Freaks," which originally came out on the group's second album, Extended Play, but has never seen the light of day on vinyl before.
