- The German experimentalist will release his first LP for 6 years in May.
Florian Hecker is preparing to release Acid In The Style Of David Tudor, his first full-length studio album since 2003.
Vienna-based Hecker hasn't been resting on his laurels since the release of Sun Pandämonium, his previous LP proper: In addition to numerous sound installation works across the globe and collaborative projects with, among others, Yasunao Tone and Russell Haswell, it was announced earlier this month that the Mego artist will once again pair up alongside Aphex Twin for a headlining live performance at this year's Melt Festival in Germany.
Comprised of ten exploratory pieces, Acid in the Style of David Tudor-as its title would suggest-marries the disparate worlds of avant garde 20th century composition and contemporary "rave culture." To whet the appetite a little further, the album will ship with an extensive 12-page essay "Climate of Bass Hunter: Florian Hecker Acid In The Style Of David Tudor" by Robin Mackay, founding editor of the philosophical research journal, Collapse.
