- The Ware label boss gets collab-happy on his newest full-length, due out in March.
Ware label boss Mathias Schäffhauser has gone collab-happy on his newest outing, due out in March.
Entitled Unequal Equality, the record sees the minimal techno true believer take to the studio with some of his favorite producers. Benjamin Brunn, Alex Smoke and Markus Guentner are among the ten musicians that Schäffhauser chose to work with here, but the real story perhaps is how despite all of the collaborations the finished product sounds remarkably cohesive. Possibly referring to that "unequal equality" of the title, Schäffhauser's sonic imprint is unmistakably on each track, guiding its sound—aside from the final track, Schäffhauser produced on his own with Ursula Bogner's source material given to him by Jan Jelinek who uncovered it posthumously.
