  • Ursula 1000 will once again reach for the stars this spring when he releases his fourth full-length album, Mystics. The man formerly known as Alex Gimeno has made a habit of releasing out-there collections of future funk, rhumba kitsch and exotica breakbeat, but rumor has it that it'll be a tad different this time around. Says the press release, on Mystics, "the Brooklyn beat-wizard ventures into tougher and more angular territory." That means guest spots from MC Tee Double, Rochelle Vincente Von K, Sista Widey and Mocean Worker, all of which should once again add up to a record of varying influences and varying sounds. Coming, as it does, nearly four years after Here Comes Tomorrow, it'll be interesting to hear just how much his sound has changed. Tracklisting 01. Summoned from the Void 02.
