  • It didn't take long after The End's closure for some to land on their feet: Ajay Jayaram and Ryan Ashmore, a duo part of the famed venue's programming team, will kick off their new weekly party in March. Entitled We Fear Silence, the event will see Jayaram and Ashmore attempt to embrace the diverse tastes of the modern clubber. Jayaram: "[I'm] struck by the amount of people who love such a broad range of music. People who name check Ben Watt and Marcus Intalex in the same breath, or who can talk passionately about dubstep whilst downloading James Holden's latest techno mix." All three of the artists that Ajay mentions are booked in for the first run of parties, which are all taking place at The Arches. Buzzin Fly will be taking over for their first party on March 6th with an all night set from label boss Ben Watt, and he'll be joined by Mademoiselle Caro (of Caro & Garcia fame) and Tim Green (AKA TG), a young producer that's been busy engineering tracks for Lee Burridge of late. You may have been to The Arches before, but there will be many changes before the debut We Fear Silence night: The venue is currently being refurbished, and a Nexo Geo soundsystem is set to be installed specifically for the night. The Arches is the first venue in the UK to have this system fitted, which has made waves in the industry for its heavy sub-bass sound.
