  • Experimental electronic musician Ekkehard Ehlers will curate a three-day event of lectures, performances and parties at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin this weekend. Ehlers, who also sometimes records under the Auch and Betrieb monikers, has teamed up with music journalist/critic Björn Gottstein to assemble a weekend of sound installations, discussions on the contemporary music market and DJ/live talent from around the world. Among the participants are Kode9, Gudrun Gut and DJ Rupture, so you can expect this event's content to be thought-provoking and ass-shaking in equal measures. If there is one thing you can count on at Audio Poverty, it's unpredictability: After all, Ekkehard has released some of the more abstract and forward-thinking music of our time, but has also jammed onstage with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
