  • The Hacienda will host a tour of three warehouse parties later this month. It's been a decade since the Manchester venue shut its doors for the final time and, as such, the club owners have decided to commemorate the club's influence on dance culture. The UK dates commence at The Print Factory in Glasgow this Saturday, and will host a trio of live acts from the venue's golden era. Graham Massey's 808 State join Factory acts A Certain Ratio and The Happy Mondays on stage, with DJ performances also slated from Darren Emerson, Arthur Baker and Slam (who'll be playing a special acid-house set). Birmingham, on the other hand, gets 808 State behind the decks, with a special appearance on tap from Bez from The Happy Mondays. Whether he'll be actually playing any records is anyone's guess, but we're pretty sure that there'll be plenty of face pulling and maraca shaking going on once he takes to the Rainbow Warehouse's stage. Closing out the mini-tour, The Happy Mondays will headline Manchester's Warehouse Project on December 28th. Expect New Order's Peter Hook to throw some of his trademark shapes behind the decks, whilst original Hacienda resident Mike Pickering will undoubtedly take you back in time with a set of classics from the club. If there was ever a good excuse to pull out your ill-fitting smiley face t-shirt again, then this might be the one.
