 | RA Review You know the story: The year is 1976. Brian Eno hasn't yet collaborated with Bowie on Low , and is looking for a project. Eno had already shown huge Krautrock interest with Roxy Music and (possibly apocryphal) quotes from the era have him calling Harmonia "the world's most important rock band" at t..

But I wasn't blown away by the Shackleton remix either, much as I like the idea of pitting him against Eno & Harmonia. The Appleblim/Komonazmuk track, though, comes off nicely!

I wouldn't even classify the shackleton remix as dubstep, more electronica. I also think it does a better job of honoring the source material, rather than just using the sounds to fit the dubstep mold.

this made me smile, funny comment!

Not me. Shows almost religious awe for the old whilst simultaneously denigrating the new. I'd agree it's not as frontier-defining as some of Shack's stuff but it's hardly piss-poor either. Designed to get a response though so fair play.

applemuk took it to predictable places, not saying their remix is bad its quite good...but expected territory based on their recent collaborative remix efforts.

For my money, Shackleton is making some of the most intense, dark, interesting music of any producer out there - his recent release on Perlon, the Moderat remix, this, and the Dub Wizards EP all being career-defining work that surpasses pretty much everything else in the genre right now.
