New user Posts / 1 RA Since / Nov 2009 | #9 / Tue, 03 Nov 09 14:37 I'm not sure why some people seem concerned that it won't be important. Its important if you make it important. So since I just took a few minutes to fill mine out, I'll go ahead and share.
Claude VonStroke Justin Martin J.Phlip Worthy Catz N Dogz
Not only have they reinvented the way I perceive parties, clubs and DJs, but they've been responsible for about 99% of the fun I've had this year ( and about 34% of the hearing loss). I love 'em. If they weren't here I'd have left SF 6 months after I landed.

New user Posts / 3 RA Since / Apr 2009 | #10 / Tue, 03 Nov 09 15:26 Hmmm it's a bit shit you can only vote for Dj's who already have a page / listing on Resident Advisor... Most of the people I'd be voting for wouldn't be on here at all, not because they're small and obscure by any means but because generally RA is about as relevant to the DnB / Dubstep scenes as DnB and Dubstep are to RA...

My memorable moment of 2009 was when tiesto played at Victoria Park in London. Another two top Dj who had done some exceptionally work in 2009 were armin van buuren and Paul van Dyk.

Hey executivesteve: We wholeheartedly agree actually! If you'd like to suggest artists that we should have on RA, you can contact us here. We'll be glad to take the time to sort it out as soon as possible so that you can vote for exactly the people that you want in this year's poll. Also, if you're an artist, you can always create your own page here as well. Thanks!

Posts / 88 RA Since / Feb 2008 | #16 / Tue, 03 Nov 09 17:22 i guess cause this year resident advisor announced that they will start the voting a week before it started. so i guess this year a lot of the promo agencies did send out emails to the fans of the artists to tell them to register to be able to voted for their favourits. now i have the feeling the results will be slightly different then last year.

Can RA incorporate IQ tests as part of the registering process going forward?

New user Posts / 3 RA Since / Feb 2008 | #24 / Tue, 03 Nov 09 19:13 Oh, looks like there is a small bug in the voting page then.
If I paste in 'Frivolous' and hit enter or tab it doesn't allow me to select him. However, if I type it in, or paste and wait a moment and press the down key, it works fine.

New user Posts / 1 RA Since / Jun 2009 | #25 / Tue, 03 Nov 09 20:02 Ok. I usually like RA content, angles, interviews and most all. However I tried to vote and apart form the usual suspects, just found out that several of my PERSONAL choices have no place in here... unless I go thru a kind-of-corporate-delay-manouver that obviously I'm not opting for. Neither I am selecting 2nd, 3rd or else choices (or leave the balk spaces) because your stale voting system mandates.
I do enjoy some rather unpromoted music and DJs (along to some known good ones) and when I cast my vote, I like it to reflect my choices, regardless they are getting on the TOP list or not.
What am I doing then?. I am not voting, RA voting system seems to not want to open to broader DJs or Musicians alternatives, or does not have the technical skill to reasonably implement it (which I doubt). Thus is losing one vote. This answer is for RA to know your policies may have this consequence as well,

The voting mechanic is entirely different, and thats the point. Its not about management campaigning for votes, its about actual readers opinions. So sure its based on popularity, but its the most popular artists based on merit, rather than fake e-mails and spamming databases.
