I'm thinking the same... Klock and Dettmann, then a few hours sleep then back for Josh Wink.

Well ill be heading off to as what germans call a "slager Musik" festival...Rock...and roll!

I'll go for Wink, the Banana album - great one, hope he plays most of the tracks, but as he said he is really trying to promote it so I am looking forward :)

the pros: wink and dixon played awesome, and kept the party alive til 1am monday. also, a new big chill area opened in panoramabar with a balcony with direct views to the dancefloor (wicked!), new toilets too
the cons: it was packed all day, at times you could hardly move

Ben Klock was amazing... did a little section with a lot from his new album... brilliant. Have to say I'm not a fan of the new part of Panorama (see my thread about it)

Wouldnt say he was amazing. First track I heard him play was OK off his album with Elif Bicer on vocals I assume. Sounded fucking immense! His first 2 hours were great and I loved the fact he was dancing and looked like he was enjoying it. Last 2 hours, I dunno he seemed to lose it. It sounded really monotonous and uninspiring. Really disappointing as I was expecting a lot better from him having heard a few of his mixes and production, which I love. Ended up going upstairs quite a few times because I found I was getting bored. Was good upstairs but I wasn't in the mood for it, just wanted to hear techno. I was expecting Klock to go b2b with Dettmann at 8am but that didnt happen. He just disappeared :S What I heard of Dettmann was excellent, loved the way he was building his set.

As for berghain, it was my first time in there and initially I felt very intimidated and stressed. Probably due to the nonsense that gets posted on here about getting in!! Even though we were on the guestlist I was still really nervous, didnt know where to look and the main bouncer scared the hell out of me LOL
I really like Berghain. The layout is fantastic and I wasn't phased by anything I saw. It was great to dance near the booth and look out onto the crowd. Expected it to go off more tbh. The toilets were really grim, makes me laugh that people moan about toilets in warehouses! Also, why on earth was the heating on?? We sat by the bar on the right of the main room and the radiators were on! Head Scratch

Returned on sunday around 6pm and felt a lot more relaxed so the bouncers didnt scare me this time and were actually really nice :) Im sure it does help being a girl. The atmosphere was electric upstairs. Josh Wink did an outstanding job, really impressed. Dixon, well he's different gravy. Probably the perfect dj to see in panorama bar. Played some wonderful stuff. Wish I could have stayed til the end but was at the point of dropping! If they sorted out some air con I could have stayed all day! Both times I left the place feeling really grimey and drained of energy.

Overall I had a fantastic time but I certainly wouldnt fly out every other week to go there! Would like to go again in the summer when its not snowing lol.
Glad to have finally popped my berghain/panorama bar cherry! :)

One of the first things a friend told me when I came to live in Berlin and was shocked how warm it is in clubs was "no sweat - no party" :D
In Bulgaria people can kill u if the air-conditioning is not OK, but here sweating and being super warm in clubs is a totally normal thing, I still can't get used to it :D

Yeah I noticed watergate was really hot too. Im not surprised you're not used to it. Its not pleasant coming out of a club feeling so sweaty and grim.

please don't forget "soundstream" (2pm-5pm) who made the whole crowd dancing, moving and bouncing in the same rythm. It was amazing. those 3 guys (soundstream, wink, dixon) were absolutely perfect.
I think dixon (or wink?) played kraftweks "numbers"...what a moment. the crowd screamed.

I missed soundstream unfortunately. Was trying to sleep ! lol
I think that line up is why panorama bar was so rammed!! As you say, perfect!

My friend Ryan told me about a blog that Josh Wink did for beatportal (read from the pic of berlin) Sums it up well :)

damn! next time don't go home ;) apart from the fact that soundstream played it's hard to sleep because you are so excited of going back in a few hours to panoramabar ;)

I'll check the link right now. thanks.

"5:30PM comes about and I happily take over from Soundstream who really set things up perfectly. The crowd was a unique blend of people - some looked as if they just had 8 hours rest, breakfast and lunch and happen to stop by the club in the mid-day, and others who looked like they were about to melt and haven’t slept for a week. Gay, straight, black, white, old, young, fresh, dirty, drunk, sober, clothed, semi-clothed, dancing, lying, producers, DJs, anonymous and androgynous humans were found at P-Bar today."

exactly.
perfect.

thank you marion.

:)

yeah we were out from midnight. Got to berghain around 3am because I wanted to see Ben Klock. Was hoping he'd be on later.

Next time I'll try and pace myself and go the distance!!
