Waxist began his love story with vinyl records as a young teen, while he was listening to a lot of reggae music. The thing then was that majority of real & tough Jamaican music was only available on vinyl record. At the time living near Lyon, south eastern France, he used to visit Reggae Jam, which was one of the best Jamaican record shop in France (yet short-living) conducted by François Droguet, one of the best French connoisseurs in Jamaican music!
As long as he was exploring reggae music, he entered in contact with a lot of other music styles, notably because I lived in the city of Vienne, where a great Jazz Festival happens each summer.
Jamaican music, with its multiple influences, opened him up to Jazz, Soul, Funk and Disco. Another big influence in this sense came from DJ GOOD..
