This year's Winter Music Conference is going to be a hugely important event for the dudes at independent, "open source", digital-only label Subdrive, as the crew comes out in full force later this month playing two select showcases, one to open the week and the other right in the middle of the hurricane.
The first party, in collaboration with Miami mainstay night "eXposure" at White Room happens on the eve of WMC, on Monday March 22. Appearing at the venue will be signees Cobra Krames, Terror Dactel, Mike Mago (first US gig!), Mr Vega, Solomon Grande and Charlie Tippie. The Subdrive crew will be joined at the party by the Nouevau Riche crew (Nacey, Steve Starks, Gavin Holland) and DJs Are Not Rockstars head Alexander Technique and roster performer Kassiano. And if you weren't already sick of too many names at the party, add these to the list: Glowtape, Figure, Al B Rotten, Johnny M, and rumored others. The White Room is located at 1306 North Miami Avenue. Doors are at 10pm and it's 18 and over to party.

The term Parallax pertains to the viewing of something from two or more perspectives – particularly how differently a thing can appear simply depending on where you view it from.
With each episode of The Audio Parallax Podcast we will present a mix by one of our resident DJs or a guest DJ, and then offer up an alternative mix by a guest DJ or another of our residents, using the same tracklist. We aim to present the listener with two very different and unique perspectives on one set of tracks, and hopefully start some interesting discussions and debates along the way – putting focus on the technique and ability of the DJ, rather than the quality of the tracks….
The podcast will be published weekly, with the first perspective of a Parallax followed the next week by a contrasting perspective.
The episodes will be brought to you by our resident DJs - a collective of DJs and producers from the North East of England – supplemented by guest DJs; ranging from emerging local talent to International DJs at the top of their game.
There are no rules other than the same set of tracks used in the first part of the parallax must be used in the second part (remixes, re-edits and creative cheating welcome) . Anything else can be added, any platform used to blend the tracks together is permitted.
